One of the best running events in the Nation, according to USA TODAY, is coming to Richmond in March. In fact, up to 35,000 people will descend upon Richmond, March 27th, participating one way or another in the annual Ukrops Monument Avenue 10K race.

The Ukrops Monument Avenue race is more than just a race. Though there is prize money for the winner, I would really qualify this event more as a community building opportunity for the entire family. There are many other events that take place alongside the Ukrops Monument including, a kid’s 1 mile race, a dress up contest for those on the wild side, a Nabisco sponsored food celebration at the end and much more.

One of the most memorable events recounted from past participants is the support and encouragement from the community. Racers following the designed course will find pockets of people line up to cheer the progress. The support from the crowd is anything but ordinary. Supporters encourage the participants dressed up as dancers, rock with loud music or by chanting an encouraging cheer. I can’t think of a better atmosphere to hold a race in.

The Ukrops Monument Avenue race reminds me of the home building process with Boone Homes. When you build in a Boone Homes Community, you will have a memorable experience. No matter whether it is a luxury new home community or a no maintenance community, Boone Homes has  a dedicated and professional staff poised to help you complete your home in record time with a superior experience. Our selections coordinator will help you select finishes for your home from a variety of vendors while our construction superintendent will make sure no deadlines are missed. When you build a custom built Boone Home, you will see why we have the highest rate of repeat clientele in the entire metro Richmond area.

Visit the Boone Homes website for more information about building luxury homes in Virginia. Visit the Ukrops website if you’re interested in racing in the historic event. We look forward to seeing you out there on race day!
