When you purchase a new home in Richmond, you are near everything that Richmond has to offer: shopping, dining, entertainment, recreation and holiday events. Adding to the list of holiday events this year, is the first “Governor’s Easter Egg Hunt.” To be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2013 on Capitol Square, this FREE event is open to the public.
Gov. McDonnell and First Lady Maureen McDonnell will kick-off the Easter egg hunt around 5:00 p.m., in front of the mansion gate. From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., attendees will enjoy a variety of activities that include an Easter egg hunt, face painting, a Thomas Jefferson impersonator, several local mascots, the Easter bunny and music and games provided by DJ Rick Pfamatter.
While the event is free, guests are encouraged to bring baby shower gifts for expectant military moms. As a military wife and Blue Star Mom, helping military family members is something near and dear to the heart of First Lady Maureen McDonnell. Following her husband’s inauguration in 2010, she launched Serving our Service Member Families (SOS) which seeks to connect military family members with businesses, churches and civic and volunteer organizations to help meet their daily needs while the service member is away.
Boone Homes encourages residents of our local Richmond neighborhoods to join the Governor, his wife and your neighbors for an evening of family fun among the beautiful backdrop of historic Capitol Square.
