Make Plans to Celebrate 4th of July near your Richmond New Home












With the 4th of July drawing near, it is time to start thinking about how you are planning to celebrate. Everything from parades and fireworks to baseball games, there are plenty of options to show off your American spirit this upcoming holiday.

Here are some fun-filled opportunities for you to celebrate the USA:

Dogwood Dell Festival of the Arts. Come out to an exciting Independence Day celebration with live music, cannons and fireworks at the Dogwood Dell Amphitheatre in Byrd Park. The show is FREE, and starts at 5:45 p.m. on the 4th of July. Attendees will enjoy the smooth jazz of Kevin B, music from the Richmond Concert Band and more. The show lasts till after fireworks, which begin at dark.

Flying Squirrels Game. What’s a better way to spend 4th of July than with America’s pastime? Richmond’s local baseball team, the Flying Squirrels, will be taking on the Akron Aeros at The Diamond. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. and will be followed by a special Independence Day fireworks display above the field at the end of the game. Tickets range from $7 to $11, so come support your local team and national pastime.

Brewdependence Day. Join Hardywood for an Independence Day celebration from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. Enjoy live music from the People’s Blues of Richmond, eats from Richmond’s favorite vendors and mason jars of our featured beers. All ages are permitted free of charge, and bracelets will be available for those 21 and over who wish to sample and purchase beer. Be sure to pack a lawn chair and blanket for the fireworks display above the Diamond.

31st Annual AT&T 4th of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks. If you are looking for a classic, all-American way to celebrate Independence Day, the Great American Picnic & Fireworks celebration is the choice for you. Head over to Town Point Park from 5 to 10 p.m. for an American cookout of hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, seafood, corn on the cob, watermelon, lemonade and so much more! Entertainment will be provided by the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command Band and fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Admission is FREE and all ages are welcome.
