Around the city lights are low, music is soft, Valentines is here and love is in the air.
For those of you who are looking to put a spin on the traditionally romantic holiday, here are some events in Richmond that may help stimulate the “swoon-ability” of your Valentine’s weekend:
To start the weekend off for the out-of-doors enthusiast, there is the 8k race Sweetheart Race in one of Boone Homes‘ recently completed new home neighborhoods in the Richmond, the Grove. The event is scheduled for Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m. weather permitting, so get up early throw on some warm clothes and kick of your Valentines weekend running hand-in-hand with your favorite guy or gal.
For the craft enthusiast there is an event that will kindle your candle of love by allowing you to make your own pillar candle and lunch event at the historic Hanover Tavern. The event promises to be a trip into the nostalgic past at this 200 year old restored landmark. The event has a cost of $12-15 including supplies and lunch which is not a bad deal.
Turn on the romance by diving into the arts. The Richmond Ballet will perform “Romeo & Juliet” starting February 12th with 2 performances on Valentine’s Day. Tickets range from $15-125 for this memorable performance.
To end the romantic weekend a Valentines package at the Hilton in Short Pump with dinner at Shula’s Steak House. A great option to end the romantic weekend.
“Giving the gift of touch” is the theme Synergy Yoga Studio developed for the couples wanting to get up close and personal. This workshop is available for $60 per couple.
